Pictureless #2

I will certainly have some pictures to share after tomorrow! Being that it is Halloween and we're encouraged to dress up at work I'm betting I'll be taking some interesting photos. I'll make sure someone takes a few of me too. I was out looking to complete my costume earlier tonight. My feet hurt! I went to so many stores looking for pink clothes. Impossible! Well, almost. I was just tickled pink to be able to purchase a few items to make it work. By the way, I left a hint as to what I'm going to be. Did you pick up on it?

A pictureless blog and possibly a boring one too.

I haven't really done anything or have any pictures to post, so.. I'll just jot a few words....a few words, a few words, a few words. This blog shows how I really don't do too much with my life. I wake up, go to work, come home, make dinner, do dishes, hold the baby, sit at the computer or tv for a little bit and then go to bed. Nothing eventful or exciting. Tonight I did go to Connie's for the church's life group that I am in. We're reading the book, Captivating: Unveiling the Mystery of a Woman's Soul. It's a pretty interesting book. I'm not usually into this type of reading . I don't have my own copy(but one of you girls said you thought you did, was that you Colleen?)but what I've been able to read, as I borrow Barbara's copy, strikes a cord. If nothing else, the social aspect is always fun. I'm meeting some new young women and of course we have some great refreshments! Well, it's time to close the book on the last chapter of my day and hit the sack.

Flu Friday

October not only brings the beautiful colors of Autumn, brisk temperatures, and the aroma of burning leaves, it also brings the annual flu shot clinic at work. It was held right in the lobby to my right(conference room) so all the action was right there for me to observe. As people signed up they were rewarded with fun size candy bars and a raffle ticket. The Company pitched in a dollar for each employee who took the flu vaccine. One lucky person would win the whole kit and kaboodle. It was also payday(I hand out the checks), so there was lots of activity at my desk all day. I was one of the first this morning to get the shot. The 2 nurses were excellent. I never even felt the needle go in!! Many people commented on that during the day. It was interesting to listen to the reasons why some didn't want it. You know who refused the most? The men!! And we all know who are the biggest babies when they get the least bit sick don't we? At the end of the afternoon one of the nurses on our Ventilator unit won $100! That was my very interessting day.

October Birthday Swap, part 1

Today I received this package from one of my two partners for the October birthday swap. This nice lady, Pam, in PA sent me these 2 little cookbooks-one is for crockpots and the other is Gooseberry Patch Quick and Easy-very nice. She also sent a beautiful "sea opal and crystal" necklace, 2 clip on flower bookmarks, a postcard of her town and a terrific stash of teabags. Our partners were to pick some items related to what we listed in our profile on Swap-bot.com. I think she did a great job. I told her it was like she really knew me as she chose the gifts. My other partner is in Australia! I can't wait to see what she sends. I sent a package to upstate NY and the other to Switzerland! How about that?!

Class of 1968 reunion. Go Tigers Go!

Last weekend was my 40th high school reunion and so I went! It was held at Round Top Park with a beautiful view of the town and river and the fall foliage was at peak!!! Absolutely beautiful!! The weather was really too warm for mid October---80 degrees! A small crowd of classmates showed up. I visited with some from the old neighborhood that I'd gone to school with since Kindergarten. The food was catered by a local restaurant and yes....we had spiedies! Some are talking about having a 45th. Maybe we can gather a better crowd for that one. We did enjoy the day, food, friends and view.

Grammie's newest "Goodie"

Well everybody...Here I am, finally to blog about my newest little "Goodie". Ok, Ok, I know you all already know what it is and most of you have already seen.....HER!!! Olivia is here!! Yeah!! It's been a busy 2 weeks what with Beth entering the hospital and having her unexpected c-section. I stayed 3 nights with her to help out. Once home the final plans were made for her shower which was the 5th. Leslie and Colleen came with some of the kids for that. I finally went back to work on the 7th and had the 10th and 13th off to go back home to my high school reunion. Beth and Olivia made the trip with me and little Olivia got to meet most of the whole "fam damily"! Here is her very first picture in the operating room...minutes old. The next picture was taken a few days ago at 2 weeks old.
