YAY!!!! I recieved my nightwish ticket in the mail the other day. I wasn't expecting it til next week. I love it when things come a lot earlier than expected.

Aloha Friday

Well, it's been almost a week since I said I was going to put up the picture of me from last Friday. The "powers that be" decided to create themed Fridays for a few weeks. Last week was Aloha Friday, the week before that was Sports Friday and this week is Easter Friday. We can wear jeans and the past 2 weeks, dress for the theme. This week we will each receive an Easter egg filled with anything from candy to gift cards. I'm sure they will be handing out candy too. I'm just glad they aren't asking us to dress like Easter eggs!!! This past Monday, being St. Patrick's Day, we were encouraged to wear green and get in the spirit.

So , do I look like an Hawaiian tourist? You can't see them, but I wore sunglasses on top of my head too.

Beths Birthday gift

So for Beth's birthday I bought her concert tickets. we went to see Chevelle and Sick puppies. since your all old and not too familiar with new music (being sarcastic here) I don't expect you to know who they are. it was a pretty amazing show. I met a few guys from the opening act God Or Julie. I had no clue who they were going into the show, but they were pretty amazing.

I ended up talking to them for about 10 minutes and bought their CD. I told Matt(far right) that I was mesmerized by his guitar playing and couldn't get my eyes off of his hands. He also does this funny thing with his mouth when he plays high notes. He mimics the note with his mouth. They are pretty cool guys. And they are semi local, based out of Brooklyn.

So I decided that this year I'll try and see as many concerts as possible. There are so many coming up within the next few months that I want to attend. But I am attending one definite one for a band called Nightwish. they are based out of Helsinki, Finland. I never thought they would be playing over in the US and to come to find out they will be playing in Poughkeepsie. YAY!!!!!

Work "fun"

so...Friday is "Hawaiian Day" at work and also jean day. We're supposed to wear our Hawaiian shirts, jeans and accessories. I'll have Kate take a picture after I get home. I guess the best dress up wins a prize. We'll have a day of Hawaiian trivia and a handout of pineapple tidbits. Wait till you see the shirt I'm wearing. I borrowed it from a resident's family member who was wearing it yesterday. I asked her how many people had asked to borrow it and she said "none" so I did. And....she took it off right there at the front desk and handed it to me. Don't worry, she had a t-shirt on under it!

Outstanding Employee--ME

I was surprised with this at Morning Report one day a few weeks ago. Clayton tricked me saying he wanted me to join the managers and dept. heads at report to see how it went. Well, he changed the subject quickly and presented me with this award, saying some very nice things about me and how well I do my job. Family Council is made up of resident's family members who attend a meeting monthly discussing any number of things regarding the care of their loved ones. It made for a very nice day!!!
