My Summer Swap Box!!

I posted last month that I signed up for a "Summer Swap" on the Simple Woman blog. I had fun searching and shopping for my swap partner, Tangee. I hope she's going to like her box as much as I do mine! I received a lovely pearly blue bracelet that she made, some homemade soap bars, a very elegant metal candlestick(heavy too!), a Mary Engelbreit decorating book, which you are going to enjoy too Leslie, a Country Living magazine, and a church cookbook to add to my collection. Maybe I better open it and pick out something to make for this homecooked,dinner starved, family!! This was my first swap and Tangee was a terrific partner. Thank you Tangee and thank you Peggy for setting this up. I'm looking forward to doing more swaps.

Plain and Simple

Well, for those who prod me to blog more, and you 2(C & L)know who you are, here is my latest. I thought I'd add my dinner picture for viewing. It's not healthy, but it was quick and tasty actually. The best part was the "Fanizzi" potatoes. I know you've heard Dad, over the years, rave about the potatoes our landlady in Syracuse would make. Very Italian, she seasoned them and tossed them with olive oil and baked in the oven. He took over the cutting of the potatoes because they have to be just the right size ;0)

Strawberry Fields Forever....NOT!!

Well, Beth and I went picking this morning. All psyched to spend an hour of "hard work" and then home to make jam and shortcake. All we had were slim pickins though. The farm was hit with a frost last month and I think they also didn't do a lot of upkeep on some of their fields. We were able to eek out almost a quart of berries. But as you can see, we did manage to have some tasty strawberry shortcake.

Simple Woman Summer Swap

I'm entering the world of "Swaps"!! I found this blog...swapdex.blogspot.com...that lists different swaps you can join. Many are for handcrafted items and I'm not very crafty anymore. The "Simple Woman" blog is offering the summer swap. With summer being the theme, I will send my swap partner a new item, a gently used item from home and an item from a yard sale, goodwill etc. All these items have to say "summer". Sounds like fun. last few hours

I only have a few more hours left of being a teenager and I'm glad it's over.

tomorrow is my birthday, and I plan on just enjoying it and probablly doing nothing. Were going out for dessert instead of dinner. you know how it is sometimes when you go out to eat and you want dessert but your too full. thats why I decided on that. I think I'm gonna chooseto go to Uno's. they have this giant reeses peanut butter cup dessert that s DELICIOUS!!!!

I'm hoping that I get some money from mom and dad to put toward the purchase of a new guitar. I really need a new oney mine has so many problems with it.

well anyways. YAY!! 3 hours left!!

My "wild and crazy" guy

When I came home Thursday from work, Dad called out to me that he had a crazy idea. He suggested that we go out to eat....dessert. He said when we do eat out we don't have room for dessert so...we went and had dessert. We went up to the Double O Grill(formerly, for those who remember, the Rolling Rock Cafe). Dad had the Death by Chocolate Cake and I had the Giant Brownie Ice Cream Sandwich. My eyes bugged out when the waitress was bringing it to the table! Imagine a brownie approx. 5 inches square with 3 scoops of vanilla ice cream, hot fudge somewhere in there and another brownie on top of the ice cream and a big glob of fresh whipped cream!!!! What a sin. I couldn't eat the whole thing. I don't know how people would be able to eat a meal and then have some dessert. Impossible!!

so I was browsing Youtube and found a number of great videos of Nightwish at the Chance. I spotted my self in a few of them. if you see a girl in the lower right hand corner(in the vids that are filmed on an angle)put up a camera every once in a while, thats me.
